Here is a draft of our daily schedule. It will evolve as the year unfolds, responding to the needs and interests of the group. In addition, literacy, math, science, and so much more will be investigated both inherently and intentionally during more open-ended times for play.
We will be weaving in the Fundations curriculum (phonics) during morning gathering, Open-Mike, and other points in the day. This will also change as we make our way through the alphabet and eventually shift to sight words and Consonant/Vowel/Consonant (CVC) words later in the year. The other two curriculum programs we will be using are Lucy Calkins Reading and Writing Workshop, along with Bridges math.
The items remaining the same will be Essential Arts classes (P.E., Art, Music, and Library). There will be an addition for Guidance soon and some other tweaks here and there. Please let me know if you have any questions.
