Wow, that was quite the rain storm this morning! It did cut the humidity a bit though, which fortunately made it a little cooler in the classroom while we stayed in (rather than start outside). Mrs. S led the first Guidance session of the year, many photos of the experience are here. Kids also visited the Library again, please remember to send in Library books on Thursdays (thanks to those that did!). Today's book in the classroom was The Dot.
Today's puppet show is here as well.
The calendar was introduced today too. The group noticed the numerals and unfolding shape pattern as we peeked behind each day. We also started using 1 stick to represent one day of school. 10 sticks together make a bundle and which will be celebrated as a bundle day!
Most, if not all, kids added an entry to their Seesaw journal as well. This was the first introduction to Seesaw intended to build experience with the process. I added one photo to their journal last night and they added a photo of their favorite part of the classroom today. Some kids sewed pillows with Mrs. Esther and others worked with Ms. Caylee building with clay. We went outside to play in the field a bit, then had a second snack while checking the photos from the day. A little independent and small group reading rounded out the day!
