At last, we were back outside in the early morning. We practiced the "th" and "ch" digraphs in the morning message, continued writing about objects in the room with more and more detail, and read Rude Cakes to reinforce some kind behaviors. After Reading Workshop, we started the conversation and practice of decomposing numbers using number trees and broke off into several groups afterward. More photos here!
We also welcomed a student teacher from Champlain College, Greg Minklei, who will be with us on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please also see this introduction from Anna Cavasos, from UVM's Early Childhood Program. She will be with us every day for this semester.
Hello Mr. Deyo’s Kindergarten Class!
My name is Anna Cavazos and I will be student teaching in your child’s classroom this winter and spring. I am currently a senior at the University of Vermont in the Early Childhood Education Program. As a student at UVM I have spent time working at the University’s Campus Children’s School as well as interning in a 3rd grade classroom. As a teacher, I am especially interested in literacy development and I look forward to learning more in Mr. Deyo’s classroom!
I grew up in Middlebury, Vermont and throughout my time there, I was a part of my local dance studio and still enjoy dancing, yoga, and Zumba classes. In my free time I also enjoy going for walks and hikes with friends and seeing Vermont’s beautiful views! I am excited to be a part of this classroom and continue to learn with your children!
Sincerely,
Anna Cavazos
