A Hike in the Meadow

Mrs. Davison led us on hike through the hillside and nature trail today. Kids looked closely at all of the beauty found in Life on Land, which is evident in the today's photos! They used "deer ears" to listen for sounds and tugged the seeds of cattails loose to learn more about the surrounding plants and wildlife. Also, some of the flowers found along the trail were familiar, so we tweeted the images (scroll down for the entire thread) to a class in Ontario to see if they could help identify them. Upon return, kids began writing about their experiences in small three page books.

Math "Work Places" were in full swing today too, some remarkable discussions and work all around! It was another beautiful fall day to say the least.
