In addition to experiences in math with Bridges, kids began adding stones sent from home to a large wooden canvas. This helped introduce the concept of "adding one more", along with building upon prior experiences of counting and cardinality. Of course, it will make for a beautiful piece of art complete with memories from your experiences this summer and our collective work together this year!
We also began reading the first book in this year's Global Read Aloud, Koala Lou by Mem Fox. Later in the week we will be Skyping with a classroom in Winnepeg to talk about the book as well. Also, big thanks to Samantha for reading One by Kathryn Otoshi this morning too!
