A Violin Performance, #GRA17 Skype, and #globalcardboardchallenge

Wow, what a day! The foliage and stones were primary materials used for math investigations this morning. In following up with Mrs. Davison's discussion about the veins of a leaf while in the woods on Monday, we counted the veins in a Red Oak and Red Maple leaf for comparison. The results were shared with her class via Twitter. The stone mosaic continues to grow as kids "add one more" too.

In the afternoon, we were treated to a violin performance by Poppy and her teacher Ms. Bever! Check out today's photos and videos for clips of the show!  Later, we Skyped with a Kindergarten from Winnepeg to talk about the book Koala Lou as part of the Global Read Aloud!

Lastly, we watched the video Caine's Arcade (below) to build anticipation for the Global Cardboard Challenge. Some work with cardboard was underway already as kid's built small homes or habitats while playing as "dogs, cats, and birds". More on this tomorrow!
