It has been a super busy few days here in Kindergarten! On Monday morning, we ventured out to visit Leafy really early. While it was nice to check in on her, it seemed to throw a wrench in our routine. A gentle reminder for all of us how much kids rely on routine and to be aware ahead of time when things change.
We have been revisiting 2D and 3D shapes in Math (here is the familiar video from earlier in the year), beginning How-To writing (through the lens of maple syrup production), reading for others during Reading Workshop, and time to play and free-write. Today we celebrated the school-wide filling of the buzzy jar with a Hawaiian/Beach Day. We even took a Google Earth trip to Hawaii and watched some beautiful scenes from the beaches.
