Thursday and Friday

Kids continued to work on "How-To" writing, specifically focusing on a condensed version of the maple syrup making process. Books, videos, websites, and oral instructions were all used as examples. The six step process simplifies the writing in this initial introduction, allowing kids to craft drawings and labels in the first experience. All work should be posted in Seesaw. In addition, with thanks to Laura and Nate Dyer, we were able to taste both maple sap and syrup from a nearby sugarbush! We will move to more complex "How-To"writing next week.

We also continued to investigate solid (3D) and flat (2D) shapes with the Geoboard app, alongside more dabbling in teen numbers. Kids also continued to read for each other, remembering to read with inflection and introducing the book before beginning. The compliment sandwich always followed each reading. A few photos and pictures are here!
