Last Day For This Cardboard, But Certainly Not The Last For Making

Today, the marble run truly took shape, with multiple iterations evolving into a long, sustained ride for the marble. The house continues to evolve as well, although it will be moving to the Preschool so they can continue to work on it. This has been a remarkable week of designing, building, iterating, analyzing, collaborating, observing, creating, re-building, and playing. We also read the book The Most Magnificent Thing which connected the collective work of the group. The cardboard is moving on, but the maker spirit will live in this classroom for many months to come.

The patterns in the daily calendar continue to provide multiple opportunities for reasoning and theorizing. A small group played "Which Numeral Will win?" with numbers 6-10 and another played a rousing game of high card (formerly known as War, which was intentionally changed). Later we practiced all the letters thus far using the app Intro to Words and the letter was introduced as well!

The final part of the day involved a Skype session with the Kindergarten in Winnepeg to play Mystery Animal! Their animal was Canadian Geese and ours was a snake from the book. More photos and videos here.

Have a lovely weekend!
