Our sincere thanks to the SFF Simanskas for giving the group a tour of the Williston Fire Station today! A few facts learned during Fire Safety Week:
- Stop, drop, (cover your eyes), and roll.
- Have a plan for 2 exits out of your house in case of an emergency.
- There are 750 gallons of water in Engine #2.
- One gallon of water weighs a little over 8 pounds.
- Firefighters try to be in their fire gear and out the door in 1 minute (when on the 1st floor of the Station)! 2 Minutes from upstairs!
- The ladder truck, Tower 1, can go up to 95 feet in the air.
- Tower 1 weighs 78, 000 pounds!
Check out today's photos for more about the day too! Plus it was a bundle day! 30 days together, hardly seems possible....
