Day 55
Happy Tuesday everyone! Hope that you all enjoyed the break last week! Settling back into the school the last two days, the children have been learning how to get back into their routine. We had an awesome first day back and all the children were able to share their favorite thing hat they did over break during morning meeting. Over the course of the day, we did a lot of review from the following week across all subjects to refresh ourselves on what we learned before break.
Owen Joy is our new leader of the week and he has already helped the whole class move through the transitions of the day and help me make sure everything is running smoothly with his peers, thanks Owen! After he lead us through morning meeting today, we talked about whether we preferred if it was hot or cold outside. A majority of the class shared that they enjoy hot temperatures more!
During reading, we were able to use DOUBLE pointer power by working on reading with a partner. We focused on helping our classmates be super readers.
In math today, we talked about the temperature and made predictions about what it might be today. We used clues from how we felt outside today compared to yesterday to make our guesses. After this we also started to learn how to count by twos! We have been using a picture of a bike and counting the wheels to help us do so. Our day ended with a special performance by some of our students. AJ, Quinn and Lillian asked to perform a song for the class and a few more peers jumped in, helping them read the song. You can see that here.
Bundle up for tomorrow everyone! We can't wait to spend the day outside.
