Day 56 & 57

Happy Thursday!

Yesterday on Wilderness Wednesday, we had such a wonderful time outside sledding, building forts, exploring and so much more. You can see pictures and videos from our day here.

Today, on day 57 of kindergarten, we had such an exciting morning! We started the day off outside again, then had guidance where we used our homemade made lanterns, went to library to find some new books and then came back to the classroom to have Four Winds! Today's topic was rocks and minerals. We learned so much about sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic rocks through a play and some hands on learning. Here are some photos of our time learning.

After lunch we came back into the classroom and had more practice with counting by two's. We played a new game where we used cubes and 10 frames to learn about even numbers. We learned that if every cube has a partner, the number of cubes you picked is even. We even got to watch a fun video that Mr. Deyo shared with us, that helped us count even further up the number line by twos.

We ended our day by talking about how we can help life on land. In writing workshop we have been working on writing how we personally help life on land so that we can put everyone's ideas into a class book. Today, everyone had the opportunity to sit in front of the class with their drawing and share with us how they help life on land. Video's of this are included in the photo album for day 57!
